Develop a communication strategy for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2022

In January 2022, UEFA Futsal EURO 2022 is coming to the Netherlands. For three weeks, the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and MartiniPlaza in Groningen will be transformed into top-notch sports venues offering the best facilities for Europe’s biggest futsal stars.

True to the art

The aim of the tournament is to reach urban youth more effectively and spark their interest in (playing) futsal. With the concept ‘True to the art’, we celebrate the uniqueness and USP’s of futsal: creativity, intuition and power. Because futsal belongs to the artists of the streets and the kings of small spaces. Like true artists, they possess the ability to create something out of nothing.

Identity

One:Nil was responsible for the brand positioning, identity, concept and production. We teamed up with talented local artists and creators to create campaign content like the hero video and host city video, as well as the creation of sales posters, social media posts and advertisements.

When creating the identity for UEFA Futsal EURO 2022, we incorporated artistic authenticity and urban vibes, as well as local landmarks from the host cities, inviting the urban young adults to come watch the matches. The identity was revealed at the Final Draw in October 2021.
