ABN AMRO CELEBRATING 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF AJAX WOMEN
Sometimes the biggest evolution is the fact that something gets normal. Where boys could already make their dreams come true to play in the famous white-red-white Ajax crest, women couldn’t until 2012. It’s now 10 years ago until Ajax started with a professional women's football team. An anniversary that deserves to get set into the spotlights, initiated by ABN AMRO, main sponsor of AFC Ajax Women.
Back in the days women couldn’t play football at Ajax. Luckily that’s already 10 years ago.
To celebrate this jubilee, ABN AMRO and Ajax teamed up together to develop a campaign to inspire new generations of women to play football. As a bank, ABN AMRO is working hard to establish a world where everybody has equal possibilities and rights. With the sponsorship of the AFC Ajax Women, it’s a perfect example where things can lead to.
In the campaign we see Ajax striker Nikita Tromp growing up and taking advantage of the development of women's football over the last 10 years. Now, in 2022, she plays as a striker for the Amsterdam giant and was elected as the biggest football talent in Europe (2021).
Who gives the chance, has the future
What started with just one women's team is now developing into a professional organisation on all levels. Since 2015 ABN AMRO partnered with AFC Ajax Women as their main sponsor and helped the club with developing all the facilities at De Toekomst and helped to invest in the Talentenacademie and the Talententeam.
