Credit where credit is due

Over the years, players from 123 different nationalities have competed in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie. That’s 123 countries bringing their own flair, passion, and talent to Dutch football. With the Globall, we wanted to give something back.

The new VriendenLoterij Eredivisie match ball was created as a tribute to every country that helped shape the league. Each of those 123 nations received a ball and a heartfelt thank you for their part in making the Eredivisie what it is today.

A league with a lot of international legends

While most Vriendenloterij Eredivisie players still come from the Netherlands, the league has always been a mix of cultures and playing styles. With the Globall, we celebrated that unique blend, showing that the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie isn’t just Dutch, but proudly international.

Introducing the Globall

The Globall is designed to look like an actual globe. The darker a country appears on the ball, the more players from that nation have played in the Vriendenloterij Eredivisie. A subtle but powerful way to visualise the league’s global reach.

Social first

The launch was designed as a social-first campaign. VriendenLoterij Eredivisie icons like Heurelho Gomes (Brazil), Steven Pienaar (South Africa), and Ismael Saibari (Morocco) helped bring the story to life by giving away a ball in their home countries — alongside many other current and former Eredivisie players from around the world.

On top of that, all 123 national football leagues with former Eredivisie players also received a ball. Credit where credit’s due.

From OneFootball to sports media across the globe, the campaign celebrated the diversity of the league and the meaning behind the ball.
